Proustite with Quartz

A really pretty, deep red cluster of translucent proustite crystals, quite fat and large for the locality. These crystals have an almost metallic luster to them and show some red color in normal lighting. the pics are dark. with any decent backlighting at all, they glow cherry-red like embers. There is a small bit of edge wear to the tips, but this is visible on close examination only and is not detracting in the overall sense. These are old classics, ffrom the 1800s and earlier, and this is a very showy thumbnail example beacuse of the dramatic display of the upright crystals with a bit of contrasting matrix.
