Item Description
Clusters of lustrous, gemmy wine-red proustite crystals, to 9 mm, are aesthetically protected in the very sculptural calcite vug. These are considered by most to have been the finest quality of proustites for their species in terms of form and clarity, although the crystals are small. Lucky, proustite crystals are preserved in the small vug, which has remained intact while many loose clusters were dissolved out using acids or tools. A classic thumbnail specimen, unusually displayable on contrasting matrix. Ex: Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Coll.
