Item Description
The Star of the Congo Mine has produced a variety of beautiful secondary copper minerals over the years and this is a great primary Malachite piece from the locality! The large plate is composed of a myriad of dark, green-black primary Malachite crystals with their terminations resulting in the scintillating effect of these crystals in mounded crystal groups. Hundreds of 2 to 4 mm crystals display triangular or diamond-shaped outlines form the top of the rounded vibrant green-black aggregates. The periphery shows bright green Malachite and the underside is mottled black and ivory possibly due to Heterogenite and Dolomite.
