Prehnite with Graphite inclusions and minor Tanzanite

This specimen was found in 2019 in the renowned Merelani Hills of Tanzania, the source of the world-famous Tanzanite crystals. You might have seen the beautiful yellow-green colored specimen of Prehnite that have come out of this area for a while, along with the newer blue bladed crystals of Prehnite which are more widely known, but the pieces from this latest find feature distinct, well-separated, larger, excellent crystals. This attractive small cabinet features thick, bladed / blocky crystals of Prehnite crystals, with a beautiful greenish hue, but have a darker grey overtone due to inclusions of Graphite. Most of the crystals are fairly gemmy on the tips with sharp, lustrous faces and an almost "broadsword"-shaped habit. There are also a few small partial crystals of gemmy purple-blue Tanzanite on the piece as well. It's larger sized, showy and features a new style (and unusual color) for Prehnite from this important gem producing district. if you're a fan of minerals of Tanzania or worldwide Prehnites, be sure to pick this one up.
