Prehnite with Epidote

The Kayes Region in Mali started yielding these soon-to-be-classic and easily recognizable specimens in the early 2000s. This area was the source of some of the most attractive, displayable and abundant specimens of Prehnite (often associated with Epidote) that have ever been found. These pieces often feature fine green color spherical groups in pleasingly aesthetic specimens. This piece is a showy and three-dimensional full-sized cabinet filled with attractive "water green" color, translucent, spherical groups of Prehnite which are sitting on dark greenish-brown, thick prismatic crystals of Epidote on matrix The largest Prehnite group measures 1.1 cm across. The vast majority of the Prehnites are undamaged, though the a few on the edges are contacted where the piece was separated from the pocket wall. Overall it's a very presentable and good quality example of what will be some of the most well-known and iconic Prehnite specimens from any world locality. Valued at $1,000.
