Prehnite with Calcite (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A nice display specimen of Prehnite with Calcite from the famous Millington Quarry in New Jersey. This locality is probably best known for its amazing Pectolite specimens, and although Calcite and Prehnite are fairly common, you don't see a lot of pieces on the market now that the quarry is closed. This piece hosts spherical groups of greenish-yellow Prehnite measuring up to 1.7 cm associated with silvery-grey colored scalenohedral Calcite measuring up to 2.8 cm on matrix. From the collection of Richard A. Kosnar, mined in October of 1987. Nice for the locality, and as I said, hard to find now that the locality is closed.
