Prehnite with Calcite

Item Description

Here we have a nice Prehnite specimen from the famous Prospect Park Quarry in New Jersey. It hosts semi botryoidal aggregates with good translucency associated with "dog tooth" scalenohedral Calcite on matrix. As you can see in one of the closeup photos, some of the Prehnite spheres have "clamshell"-shaped faces on the sides which make for a really interesting effect. These specimens are highly prized by New Jersey collectors, and are becoming very difficult to obtain these days. Enjoy.
