Item Description
Classic mint-green, translucent, bladed prehnite botryoids are aesthetically set on the small cabinet basalt matrix plate. The sculptural elongate prehnite cluster is flanked by beds of tiny glassy calcite rhombs and a striking drop-down bed of tiny gemmy Datolite crystals, fine accessories and complements. The extinct Prospect Park Quarry, opened in 1901, is one of New Jersey's great basalt Traprock localities. Ex Joe Cilen Collection # 9595. Joe was a well-known New Jersey collector who accumulated an over 23,000 piece collection. He passed away in 1997.
