Prehnite (two colors) with RARE Sphalerite association

Item Description

An attractive specimen of Prehnite from the well-known O & G Quarry in Connecticut featuring distinctly different colored zones (green and yellow), but what really makes this piece stand out is that it hosts some sharp, gemmy, lustrous, tetrahedral crystals of golden colored Sphalerite. Now I realize that Sphalerite isn't a rare mineral, but it's a big deal to find it in trap rock quarries on the East Coast. I can point to the Sphalerites on Prehnite from the Millington Quarry in New Jersey, which are prized and sought after by collectors, so a piece like this is certainly not common and would make a great addition to any trap rock suite or collection of East Coast / New England localities.
