Item Description

Here we have a nice Prehnite specimen from the famous Prospect Park Quarry in New Jersey. It hosts botryoidal aggregates of Prehnite measuring up to 8 mm, though not the typical green color you expect, but rather yellow and golden-brown which is NOT common for the locality. The label states that it was collected by Hobart Jones circa 1952-1965. These specimens are highly prized by New Jersey collectors, and are becoming very difficult to obtain these days, especially since the quarry is now closed and will never produce this material again. Enjoy.
