Prehnite (rare locale)

Item Description

This is a large, glittering, crystalline plate of large, excellent, green Prehnite crystals from a rare locality for this species, Pakistan! This is from a small artisanal mine that produced limited quantities of this material decades ago with not much recovered since. The Prehnite has excellent, translucent mint-green color with a relatively bright luster, and with consistently large crystals from 1 to 3 cm in maximum dimension, which are huge for the species! The crystals seem to be composed of tight, radial fanned aggregates that have a distinct and sharp ridge running across the top of them for great architecture and composition. This is an exceptional and attractive cluster of Prehnite that competes with any other more common localities for the species in size of crystals and color!
