Prehnite (RARE cat's eye stone!)

There are a good number of gems that can be cut into cat's eye stones. These gems are created when the thin small fibrous inclusions inside of the stone are properly oriented in a way that they reflect light to create thin line or "eye" when the gem is rotated in the light. I'm sure most people are familiar with Tourmaline cat's eyes or Chrysoberyl cat's eyes, but this is a RARELY seen Prehnite cat's eye. I looked through our archives, and this is the FIRST Prehnite cat's eye that we've had to offer in the auctions. It comes from the Wave Hill Station locality in Northern Territory, Australia, where some excellent gem grade Prehnites have been found in the past. This "Oval Cabochon" cut stone has a soft creamy golden hue, but when it exposed to a concentrated light source, you can see a decent "eye" appear that runs the length of the stone. It was difficult to capture the "eye" in the photo, but please watch the video for this listing and you can see it a bit better. A desirable rare gem for any collector of cat's eye stones or unique stones.
