Item Description

An excellent and dramatic, jackstraw cluster of lustrous, translucent, pretty sea-green, prehnite pseudomorphing laumontite stalks from the famous Malad quarries near Bombay. The stalks have colorful green translucence and you can see that most of them are hollow. The longest pseudo is 11.0 cm. The stalks are richly peppered with glassy, colorless apophyllite crystals. This is easily one of the better prehnite pseudos after laumontite in this size range, that we have offered from this extinct locale. The quarries were closed due to population growth. Older material from the 1980s. Ex Berthold Ottens Collection, noted Indian specialist and author. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! valued $500
