Item Description

New Jersey traprock quarries are famous for outstanding casts or epimorphs of prehnite pseudomorphing anhydrite crystals. The well-known Fanwood Quarry is nearly singular, in that the prehnite replaces glauberite crystals rather than anhydrite. This is an exeptional older large mounded plate of spherical aggregates of lustrous, translucent rich mint-green prehnite blades replacing sharp glauberite prisms. The large prominent doubly terminated pseudo is 3.0 cm. Older material collected by Nick Facciolla in 1987. Ex Robert Batic Collection. Valued at $1000.
