Item Description
A truly facinating and striking pseudomorph specimen from the famous and now-closed Prospect Park Quarry of New Jersey. The pretty green, translucent columns of botryoidal prehnite are actually epimorphs, i. e. casts after anhydrite crystals, which have been dissolved away. The large column is partially hollow on the back, where the anhydrite was dissolved away.. Complete all-around and pristine. Classic material from this noted locale. Ex Robert Fender Collection, and dates to the 1960s and 70s. Valued $750-1000. this is of unusually good aesthetic quality!
