Prehnite on Quartz (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

These are some of the most distinctive and easily recognizable Prehnite specimens from the modern age of mineral collecting. A rounded "wheat sheaf"-shaped cluster of translucent green Prehnite is perched on top of a gemmy, lustrous, colorless Quartz crystal. In my experience, it is difficult to obtain specimens with the Prehnite clusters perched at the TOP portion of the Quartz crystals. A lovely and worthwhile toenail sized specimen of this contemporary classic material.
