Item Description
An attractive and aesthetic association specimen from these well-known finds in the early 2000s in Mali. The various discoveries Kayes Region yielded some of the most well-known and significant pieces of Prehnite (often with associated Epidote) from anywhere in the world. This showy cabinet-sized piece features a single spherical, lovely green color, "ball" of Prehnite sitting atop an aesthetic group of crystallized dark brown-green Epidote prisms. The Prehnite "ball" measures 1.6 cm in diameter, and the largest Epidote measures 4.1 cm long. The Prehnite is gemmy/translucent, and it lights up with that lovely light green color when backlit. No major damage on the front/display side, but there are a few small contacts that can be seen. The back of the piece is not complete where the piece was removed from the pocket wall.
