Item Description
An attractive association specimen from the well-known finds in the early 2000s in Mali. The various discoveries in the Kayes Region produced some of the most well-known and significant pieces of Prehnite (often with associated Epidote) in recent memory. This piece features a single spherical, soft green color Prehnite "ball" sitting atop an aesthetic group of crystallized, lustrous, dark brown-green Epidote prisms. The Prehnite "ball" measures 2.2 cm in diameter, and the largest Epidote I can find measures 2.7 cm long. The Prehnites is gemmy/translucent, and it lights up with that glowing green color when backlit. No damage on the front/display side, but there is a separation mark on the back Epidote where the piece was removed from the pocket wall.
