Prehnite on Epidote

Starting in the early 2000s, the Kayes Region in Mali surprisingly started producing some of the most attractive, displayable and abundant specimens of Prehnite (often associated with Epidote) that had been found. These distinctive pieces feature fine green color spherical groups of Prehnite, often in pleasingly aesthetic specimens. This piece is a showy and three-dimensional cabinet filled with attractive "water green" color, translucent, spherical groups of Prehnite which are sitting on dark greenish, lustrous, prismatic crystals of Epidote on minor matrix. The largest Prehnite "ball" measures 2.2 cm across. The vast majority of the Prehnites are undamaged, though the lower back section of the piece is contacted where it was separated from the pocket. Overall it's a very presentable and excellent example of what will be some of the most well-known and iconic Prehnite specimens from any world locality.
