Item Description
Starting in the early 2000s, these beautiful and impressive display quality specimens of Prehnite with Epidote started coming out of the Kayes Region of Mali. They are well-known by this point to all collectors, and they are still some of my favorite Prehnite specimens on the market. This attractive specimen hosts good quality, gemmy, water-green color spherical aggregates of Prehnite sitting on dark brownish-green Epidote crystals to form an eye-catching, aesthetic display piece. The largest Prehnite "ball" measures 30 cm across, and the largest Epidote measures 3.5 cm long. The piece is undamaged on the front, but contacted on the back where it separated from the pocket wall. A very showy and dramatic example of these soon-to-be classics from what was an unlikely source at the time they were found.
