Outstanding prehnite specimens are well-known from the Goboboseb Mts of Namibia, but specimens directly attributable to this obscure locale are VERY RARE. An impressive large hemisphere of lustrous, translucent, rich mint-green, enechelon groups of parallel-growth prehnite crystals forms a highly sculptural and aesthetic specimen. The prenite rests on a crust of quartz and calcite with a SURPRISE. SW UV light reveals patches of neon-green hyalite opal. The prehnite lights up a pretty green, when backlit. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection # 14903 and purchased in October, 1993 at the Castro Valley Show. Valued at $500 for rarity and quality.
