Prehnite on Calcite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

These are some of the most distinctive and easily recognizable Prehnite specimens from the modern age of mineral collecting. A rounded cluster of crystallized "clamshells" of translucent rich green color Prehnite is perched on top of a soft grey rhombs of Calcite on matrix. In my experience, it is difficult to obtain specimens with the Prehnite clusters on matrix like this, with this kind of color. A lovely and worthwhile large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of this contemporary classic material.
