Item Description

A really attractive little thumbnail specimen of Prehnite from the well known basalt locality at Riker Hill in the western most Watchung Mountin in northern New Jersey. The piece features small "clamshell"-esque spherical aggregates of highly lustrous bright green Prehnite on a satiny colorless/white Calcite crystal. The largest Prehnite aggregate measures 4 mm across. From the collection of Allen Heyl, a now deceased geologist from Colorado, and the namesake for the Turquiose group mineral, Aheylite.
