Prehnite & Natrolite nodule (Taylor Hunt Coll.)

Item Description

Stunning, vivid yellow-green, glassy, transparent prehnite fills a polished hemisphere of an original spherical nodule , on this striking small cabinet specimen from a less well-known Australian locale. It produces a lot of carving rough, but few enough good specimens survive intact, it seems. The starkly white contrasting botryoids in the interior and on the fringe are natrolite. These geodes and amygdaloids occur in basalt flows in ancient volcanic deposits. This was purchased in Tucson perhaps 20 years ago, from an Aussie dealer. Ex Taylor Hunt Collection. A very fine and colorful combination from the locale.
