The famous old Prospect Park Quarry is one of the most important and historic trap rock localities on the East Coast. It is probably best known for its superb crystallized Prehnite specimens, which you will find in collections around the world. This wonderful large cabinet display specimen features a coverage of excellent quality, vitreous / velvety, radiating crystallized aggregates of gemmy beautiful green color Prehnite on a layer of basalt matrix. The combination of the superb luster, color, gemminess and overall quality of the Prehnite "balls" is excellent for the locality. What really makes the piece stand out is the fact that the display side is completely undamaged (though a small amount of host rock can be see - not what I would consider damage) and the piece displays beautifully. It's not easy to get your hands of large cabinet sized specimens of this material with such great quality and no damage.
