Prehnite (ex Robert Batic Collection)

Item Description

This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years, including some impressive Prehnite specimens. This particular specimen is an attractive specimen consisting of beautiful, gemmy, water green color, spheres of Prehnite sitting atop a layer of very dark green Pumpellyite with rhombic Calcite on a thin layer of basalt. A great cabinet from this historic locality. It would make a great addition to any Prehnite suite or a collection of minerals from New Jersey. The piece was comes from the collection of New Jersey Collector, Robert Batic It must be noted that Prospect Park will never produce any more specimens in a very short period of time. The quarry is currently being backfilled to make room for housing developments, and will soon be nothing more than a memory.
