Prehnite (ex Obodda)

A nice one for you all you Prehnite collectors out there. This piece is from a lesser known occurrence in Morocco (Prehnite is the only mineral found at Taza to the best of my knowledge) that produced only a handful of decent specimens. This material somewhat reminds me of Prehnites from the Oficarsa Quarry in Spain and slightly reminiscent of the Erongo material. It has a gentle spherical form that is created from hundreds of little crystals growing in a semi-radial pattern. The luster is good, and the color a is very soft sea-green hue. A bit of underlying Quartz matrix makes for a nice touch. Good shape overall, and a worthwhile specimen for any collector of Moroccan minerals. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
