Item Description
The famous Prospect Park Quarry is renowned for producing some of the most iconic Prehnite specimens from anywhere in the New Jersey trap rocks. This piece is a good representative piece of this well-known material featuring several beautiful green colored, translucent spherical aggregates of Prehnite measuring up to 1.6 cm across sitting on basalt matrix. The central spheres are in good shape, but the periphery is contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. This locality is now completely gone, and will never produce another crumb, so get these specimens while you can. From the collection of Gerry Morvell.
