A simply extraordinary American prehnite, out of the superb collection of Ed David. It is special both for its SIZE and its FORM. Rather than the usual plate, here you have hundreds of prehnite balls that have formed a sort of "bowl" with a column inside - so it is incredibly sculptural compared to the usual specimen. The color is the typical sea-foam green, and since the balls have formed a sort of thin wall, they are translucent. You could not get much more drama in one of these; valued at $1,500.
