Item Description

This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens over the last 100 years. Although there are no Zeolites on this specimen, it hosts one of the most well known associated minerals that is commonly found with Zeolites. The specimen hosts several, well-crystallized, attractive, bright green color, spherical aggregates of Prehnite sitting atop basalt matrix. The largest Prehnite sphere measures 1.2 cm across. There's a bit of roughness around the edges, but the center of the piece is essentially undamaged. A great small cabinet / large miniature from this historic locality.
