Item Description

A hard to find specimen of Prehnite from near Plainville, Connecticut (labeled incorrectly as "Plainview"). A few "water"-green color, spherical aggregates of gemmy Prehnite sit on underlying dark greenish Pumpellyite on basatl matrix. The largest Prehnite sphere measures 6 mm across. This is a certainly an uncommon specimen, as most of the significant Prehnites from Connecticut are found at the famous Roncari Quarry. The piece is from the Allen V. Heyl Collection, who was a friend of a the Kosnar family and for whom the species Aheylite was named.
