The historic Prospect Park Quarry in the New Jersey trap rocks was one of the most important and historic localities on the East Coast of the United States. This famous quarry is probably best known for its superb crystallized Prehnite specimens, which you will find in collections around the world. This wonderful small cabinet display specimen a several excellent quality, crystallized groups of translucent beautiful green color Prehnite with Calcite on matrix. If you look closely, you can see the little Prehnites are intergrown to create "clamshell"-shaped groups of Prehnite, but appear to be spherical at a distance. The largest group measures 1. cm across. No major damage and very showy. Prospect Park is now completely finished, so no more of these impressive pieces will ever be found.
