Prehnite (classic material) (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A classic old-time specimen of Prehnite from the famous Bourg-d'Oisans locality in the French Alps. The piece features attractive translucent "clamshell"-shaped crystals which range in color from nearly a colorless hue to more of a richer mossy green color (from minor "Chlorite" inclusions). There is a bit of attached off-white "Mountain Leather" here and there, for a nice contrast. A good quality piece of this historic material. From the collection of Brian Kosnar. Originally the specimen was in the collection of Kay Robertson (#3377). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
