Item Description
Prehnite specimens are uncommon from this old obscure South African locale and this is a beautifully sculptural large example. Frosted, translucent, pretty mint-green, bladed crystal aggregates that formed as casts after calcite rhombs compose this dramatic piece. The striking large fan on the left is a very thin crust, 5 mm thick, with a very flat base, indicating that this part grew against a large sharp crystal. The center and right are 3-dimensional and two-sided. Excellent and rare in this quality large material. The finest example from the small lot we obtained.
