Item Description
Showy, excellent and uncommon calcite and prehnite combination from this famous extinct Traprock quarry. Glassy, translucent, modified calcite scalenohedrons are aesthetically clustered on the basalt matrix covered with rich mint-green prehnite. The four large terminated crystals, to 3.9 cm, are pristine except for the basal periphery wear to the large crystal. Moderate pink calcite fluorescent. Ex R.F. Denicourt and Larry Conklin Collections. There is a $60 price on the back of the Denicourt label. Older material, that probably dates to the active mining period, 1893-1925. A fine calcite and prehnite from the Upper New Street Quarry.
