Prehnite and Epidote (huge stone!)

Prehnite has always been a popular gem among collectors because of its lovely green color. Recently the Prehnite discovery in Mali has produced some great cabbing and carving material. This material, when carved, has a unique and attractive "soft" almost "velvety" appearance. This giant "Oval Cabochon" cut gem is very large sized for the material, and has several prismatic, dark green Epidote inclusions, which is typical for this material from Mali. This is one of the largest stones of this material that we've handled, and considering it is relatively new, it's a great gem to fill a spot in your collection, or even put on a shelf for display purposes.
