Prehnite and Calcite on Quartz

Item Description

Prehnites, Calcites,and Quartz line this portion of a basalt pocket from Namibia. There are three Prehnites, whose blades grow together to form attractive spherical clusters. The mint-green Prehnite has very good translucence, and the largest of the spheres is 1.4 cm across. The Calcite rhombs range up to .5 cm, and everything rests on a fine, needle-like Quartz lining. This small cabinet is a good representative specimen from Goboboseb.
