Item Description
The quarry at Upper New Street is over 100 years old (it opened in 1893) and is one of the most famous Trap Rock quarries in New Jersey. It is probably most famous for its amazing and unique prehnite casts after anhydrite. This striking and colorful specimen features intergrown "fingers" of beautiful, translucent, mint-green spherical aggregates of prehnite associated with calcite on basalt matrix. This specimen is from a recent find, and has some of the finest color prehnite that you"ll see from any quarry in New Jersey. Classic and excellent combination material from a small modern find.
