Prehnite after Laumontite w/ Apophyllite (ex Smale Coll.)

There are at least 20 Apophyllite crystals on this impressive and outstanding large matrix specimen of glassy, sparkly mint-green Prehnite crystals pseudomorphing clusters of elongated Laumontite crystals from the famed extinct Malad Quarry near Bombay. The embedded colorless, glassy, transparent to translucent, blocky tetragonal Apophyllite crystals, to 2.6 cm (some doubly terminated), are super and typical accessories. These particular pseudomorphs have a special appeal all-their-own and this is a terrific large combination highlighted by the RARE, large number of apophyllite crystals. The quarry closed due to population growth. This is one of the larger specimens of exceptional combination quality from the find. Ex Dr. Steve Smale Collection.
