Item Description

In the gem world, Prehnite typically has been used in more of a lapidary capacity for many years. This is due to the fact that Prehnite is not easy to find clean, transparent material. Going back to the early 2000s, the fine quality Prehnite specimens from Mali were often used for cabbing and carving material, but some of them were actually gemmy enough for faceting. These stones have unique and attractive "soft" almost "velvety" appearance when they're polished. This gem has a "Modified Step Arrowhead" cut with wonderful internal gemminess. Considering this is relatively new material, it's a great gem to fill a spot in your collection.
