Item Description

Sculptural and classic large prehnite from this famous extinct New Jersey Traprock quarry. Bubbly spherical aggregates of translucent, rich mint-green prehnite blades cover the 3-dimensional, mounded specimen. This historic quarry was active from 1893 to 1925, but housing contruction in the area recovered superb specimens in the late 1980s, such as this fine example. The piece displays well without aid and the noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction. The piece has multiple display views.
