Prehnite

Item Description

Here we have a nice Prehnite specimen from the famous Prospect Park Quarry in New Jersey. It hosts botryoidal aggregates with soft green color and few white "needles" of Laumontite. An exposed edge of the piece shows that the Prehnites have actually formed hollow "casts" after preexisting Anhydrite which was dissovled away. These specimens are highly prized by New Jersey collectors, and are becoming very difficult to obtain these days, especially since the quarry is now closed and will never produce this material again.
