Prehnite

Item Description

A classic French Alpine specimen of the famous "clamshell" or "helmet"-shaped Prehnites from La Combe de la Selle. The crystals are VERY gemmy, with the beautiful murky sea-green internal color that is best associated with this material. The luster is about as high as it gets, and the largest crystal group measures 8 mm across, which is not bad for the material. A great piece of this well known material for any Alpine collector or French mineral collector.
