Prehnite

Prehnite has always been a popular gem among collectors because of its lovely green color. Recently the new Prehnite discovery in Mali has produced some great cabbing and carving material. This material, when carved, has a very unique and attractive "soft" almost "velvety" appearance. This gem is pretty good size for the material, and is fairly very gemmy compared to the vast majority of the stones I've seen from this area. It has a "High Dome Cushion Cabochon" cut. Considering this is relatively new material, it's a great gem to fill a spot in your collection.
