Prehnite

Prehnite has always been a popular gem among collectors because of its lovely green color. Recently the new Prehnite discovery in Mali has produced some great cabbing and carving material. This material, when carved, has a very unique and attractive "soft" almost "velvety" appearance. This gem is pretty good size for the material, and is rather gemmy, which is uncommon in my experience with these stones. It has a "Checkerboard Oval" cut and a beautiful internal appearance. Considering this is relatively new material, it's a great gem to fill a spot in your collection.
