Prehnite

Prehnite has always been a popular gem among collectors because of its lovely green color. Recently the new Prehnite discovery in Mali has produced some great cabbing and carving material. This material, when carved, has a very unique and attractive "soft" almost "velvety" appearance. This "Round Cabochon" cut is very gemmy for the material, and better than the majority of the people I have seen from a clarity standpoint. This is a good size stone and considering it is relatively new, it's a great gem to fill a spot in your collection.
