Prehnite

Item Description

The Lane & Son Traprock Quarries (sometimes referred to as Lane's Quarry) is a well-known New England locale for world-class Babingtonites along with attractive Prehnites. This piece is a nice representative Prehnite from this famous locale featuring a 1.8 cm, spherical aggregate of a pale greenish hue, along with additional Prehnites on one side, and the reverse side of the piece features smaller aggregates of a more saturated green hue. It's hard to say which side one would consider the "display" side, as they both offer something different. The side with the larger paler colored Prehnites also features an exposed blocky "cast" after Anhydrite, where the original form of the crystal (which has since been dissolved away) is now preserved in the remaining Prehnite.
