Prehnite

Item Description

A classic example of these beautiful old Prehnites from the Roncari Quarry in Connecticut. This miniature specimen features lustrous, translucent, beautiful light green colored Prehnite groups measuring up to 1.6 cm across, showing the distinctive "helmet" or "clamshell" habit, associated with Calcite on matrix. No damage that I can find, and very showy. These are East Coast classics, and certainly some of the most well-known Prehnites from any trap rock locality in New England.
From the collection of Kay Robertson (#1861). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
