Item Description

The O & G Quarry in Woodbury, Connecticut is a trap rock quarry that has produced some really attractive Prehnite specimens, which are well-known to collectors for their range of beautiful colors and desirable botryoidal forms. This miniature sized specimen hosts attractive, translucent, slightly resinous, pastel "water"-green and colored "balls" of Prehnite, free of matrix. Most of Prehnite "balls" are undamaged on the display side,. The largest "ball" measures 1.0 cm across. A beautiful and now fairly hard to find example of this classic material. Ex Charles ("Charlie") Locke Key collection who passed away in December of 2021. Charlie was arguably the most successful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
