Item Description
Over the last few years, we've seen some world-classic Opals coming out of Ethiopia. These gems rival some of the top Opal gems from places like Australia and Mexico for color and gemminess This "marquise cabochon" cut gem is a fantastic example of this material featuring a golden background that hosts an amazing array of color flash ranging from green to yellow to gold to orange to red (with minor purple flashes here and there) when reflected in the light. It's a big impressive stone, and would make a great piece of jewelry, or would stand on its own as a beautiful gem. It's a solid Opal, not a doublet or triplet, which means something when it comes to value and price, and it's completely untreated. Valued at $4,728.50 retail. This is not only a fine quality Ethiopian Opal, but a TOP NOTCH stone on a worldwide level.
